LifeChurch.tv – True(ish)

True(ish)Alright so we started a new series at www.lifechurch.tv this past week titled True(ish). The concept is based on this, God’s truth is black and white and even though there is no gray area, that’s where so many of us live today.

…And Another One Bites the Dust!

So this past weekend I was back up in Oregon. I was there to see my friend Josh (who I’ve known since I was like five years old) get hitched to Lindsey! She would also add if she was authoring the the word, “FINALLY!”. It only took him five years Lindsey! Hold your horses.

Dinosaurs and the Bible

Okay, so this post was prompted based off one of the comments I received on a previous posting. It has been something I wanted to post on, but it doesn’t really accomplish what I am trying to accomplish for all of my readers. What I will say however is this, for every scientific argument you can make, whether it’s Dinosaurs, Evolution, the Fossil Record or more, I can easily make counter arguments that support Christian thought in these areas and they are based and rooted in science as well.

Let’s Be Fair: The Fair Tax!

The Fair TaxAs many of you already know, during this last Presidential Election I cast my ballot for former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. Well since the election took place Governor Huckabee has continued to play an active role in American Politics. He has his own TV show on Fox News titled “Huckabee” that is aired on the weekend as well as a new radio show called “The Huckabee Report“.

The Manuscript Evidence

So just how reliable is the bible? For those struggling with their faith this is one of the big reasons why. We presume that the bible is an ancient document, which it is, but since this is the case that it must be chalked full of mistakes, inconsistencies and errors as it’s been passed down from century to century. This however goes against the evidence and just isn’t the case.

Let’s just look at the tip of the iceburg and talk about manuscript evidence…

Living With Purpose

Rick Warren: Living With PurposeSo I wanted to let you all know about the TED website. It’s a great video thinktank basically. The videos featured on the site are from world renowned intellectuals speaking on topics in their respective fields. It’s definitely an interesting site and worth checking out if you’ve got some extra time and feel like exercising your brain. There is lots of good stuff, topics range on everything from how our brain works during a stroke to how to fix the problem of world poverty.

With all of that said, it’s a site filled with some great intellectuals and thinkers like I said, but it isn’t necessarily friendly towards those of the faith. Infact the TED official stance on religion is that they have no stance on religion. So okay that’s great!
